Marshall’s Arm

Marshall’s Arm Nature Reserve Entrances Project

The brief for this project required costed design proposals for works of art at seven separate entrances to the nature reserve. Two of these were earmarked to be realised as a first phase of improvement works and included community consultation.

Workshops at Hartford High School contributed ideas for the final design of a steel entrance archway at the Stones Manor Lane entrance and a spherical cast stone sculpture at an entrance by the Weaver Navigation. This piece was made using an appropriate choice of Cheshire red stone and two editions were cast from the mould. The second was donated to the school to site in their grounds as a souvenir of the project.
